Piece 1

The ProcessIt was the pattern and coloring of the creature which was difficult. This was a mix of creatures: Tape worms, oysters, mantises, morning doves, black cats, lobsters, orb weavers, butterflies, raccoons, geckos, salmon, octopuses, foxes, flamingos, bearded dragon, blowfishes, flukes, beetles, crabs and peacocks. So with that large amount of animals to draw from, I had a lot to work with when it came to design, and color. So at one point I was split between raccoon or peacock colors with a mix of morpho butterfly for the tail. So I decided to use the raccoon colors for my 5th investigation, saving the more peacock based colors for my 15th

Piece 2

The ProcessThe biggest challenge was the second frog like creature in relation to the spider, I didn’t know what I wanted it to look like. Since I wanted a more aquatic look, I studied a lot of creatures which were mostly aquatic and could go on land, like octopuses, sea turtles, also salamanders, finally settling on mudskipper based form. There was also the legs of the creature and how they were positioned, since it was really hard to figure out position wise

Piece 3

The ProcessWhen I came down to design, this piece was the biggest one I debated on. I went over several designs on the creature, mostly with a big eye and a pealed skin appearance, I finally landed on what I wanted to do when I added arms to a couple of designs and made the creature more and more human

Piece 4

The ProcessMy biggest challenge was the color of the light which I decided to go with a pinkish purple and go other it with another layer to not loose the brighter patches of light. The mean in the corner is a rabbit I decided, a symbol of comfortability, along with wine, butter, and chocolate

Piece 5 |
The ProcessI chose to make the front part of the wings thorns like Jesus wore on his head, with metal poles coming out to resemble the nails he was stuck with, I tried to make a pattern on the back of the owl to look like Jesus’s hands with the nails on it, on the wings. Also apple red eyes and shaped face to resemble the usual depiction of the Adam and Eve story. As for things such as wisdom, I picked out an owl for the body since most are usually depicted as wise, elderly or knowledgeable. I also added a pinkish tone to the wings in order to bring in nature to represent how some people find there base on there own without any influences. I went through a lot of color alteration for the owls wings, at first starting out with just a sandy yellowish color, then to full green, then hot pink since I felt without some kind of other color thrown into the mix with the thorns, the owl looked like just a normal owl with vegetables growing on it’s wings
